On this photo, I cheated a little. I went to California for several days to help my dad after his back surgery. I wanted to visualize my father surrounded by healing yellow light and so did this. I had no problems doing this image, except that the Quicktake is so much inferior to film that I had to repaint features on the face. I enjoyed doing this picture and feel happy with the result.

Karelle, I like the composition of this photo, and, it might surprise you to hear, the lighting. The figures are pronounced with the soft tone/light of the beach and background, and your Dad still the focus (proximity)...and the glow. Actually, with the right lighting angle, and the subject relatively close, the QuickTake does OK.

-Karelle.. with your explanation I visualize your colorizing as the "healing aura" that is surrounding your dad. Healing wishes :) larryC

I find that digital cameras are not as fine as film also. I do like the immediate feedback for the classroom. The light you've created really sends a message. It would be interesting to use this photo as a spin off for a creative writing lesson. Nice job!
